Transnational short-term
training course
The project foresaw the development and implementation of a transnational 5-day short-term training for prison officers from different European Jurisdictions, developed in different countries, in order to collect feedback about the newly developed or adapted training contents and methods proposed, as well as to gather feedback from the VET providers from different European countries involved as training providers.
In total, 4 events were held, one per partner country: PT (April 2022), BE (May, 2022), RO (September, 2022), DE (October, 2022). The selected participants were involved as trainers and facilitators of the new developed training curricula and developed new learning resources. |
Lisbon Workshop
28th March - 1st April, 2022
The Workshop training took place in Lisbon, Portugal (at the Sindicato do Corpo da Guarda Prisional (SNCGP) facilities), from March 28th to April 1st, 2022.
This training was face-to-face, and 33 participants were present. The participants were prison officers, prison directors and PO trainers. Each training day was occupied with different topics (related to the duties and the specific duties defined from the data analysis) and presentations from the participants. The workshop results were gathered on the training programme proposal developed. The construction of the European VET curricula for prison officers took a step further, namely in terms of the modules definition – type, length, syllabus, evaluation strategy and learning context organisation. Some professional competencies and learning results were also modified or replaced. The professional profile was redesigned to be European |
Ghent Workshop
16th - 20th May, 2022
The Workshop training took place in Ghent, Belgium (at the NOVOTEL Ghent Centrum), from May 16th to 20th, 2022.
This training was face-to-face, and 25 participants were present. The participants were prison officers, prison directors and PO trainers. The workshop results were gathered on the training programme proposal developed. The construction of the European VET curricula for prison officers took a step further in terms of the modules definition – type, length, syllabus, evaluation strategy and learning context organisation. Some professional competencies and learning results were also modified or replaced or added. Entry requirements for the Prison Officer of the 21st Century were defined. |
Bucharest Workshop
5th - 9th September, 2022
The Workshop training took place in Bucharest, Romania (at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham), from September 5th to 9th, 2022.
This training was face-to-face, and 34 participants were present. This workshop was dedicated to the creation and development of learning resources for the training program. Each day was occupied with different activities. The first day was dedicated to the project framework and outputs, the second, a visit to a prison and national prison systems presentation, on the third, the participants developed their cases, on the fourth, these cases were dynamised and, finally, on the last day, the workshop closure. In total, 6 cases were developed and will be adapted to training and learning resources, within WP3|O6 Learning resources. |
Bremen Workshop
24th - 28th October, 2022
The Workshop training took place in Bremen, Germany (at the Dorint City-Hotel, Address: Hillmannplatz 20, 28195 Bremen), from October 24th to 28th, 2022. This training was face-to-face, and 20 participants were present. The participants were prison officers, prison directors, PO trainers and psychologists.
The workshop was dedicated to the development of learning/training resources, using the critical incidents methodology. Each day was occupied with different activities. The first day was dedicated to presenting the project framework, results and outputs. On the second day, the first group activity went on in the morning, and the following activity began in the afternoon. On the third day, there was a visit to prison in the morning and, in the afternoon, the group activity went on. On the fourth, four groups dynamised their cases, and, finally, on Friday, the last group dynamised their case. In total, 4 cases were developed and dynamised and will be adapted to training and learning resources, within WP3|O6 Learning resources. |
